স্মৃতিচারণ

Those were the days when life was simpler, mobile phones and cable TV never thought off, letters were exchanged from postcard to envelope, colour televisions’ a luxury, being gym fit not the trend and college fees Rs.120 per month.

That was the time when young aspirants thronged the premises of Malda Polytechnic College to take admissions in several of its engineering streams. It had the best environment to study and the biggest hostel to take pride of.

Years have passed since then and the college still takes pride for its quality education and the fellow pass outs still burns the passion in their heart to re-unite. The passion deepens to meet the dear ones, share the feeling of good old days, consider each other in the path of life and show some benevolence for the dear institute, as well.

This Blogspot is a humble tryst in this line only.

It will help to contact, unite and share. It would help to laugh, cry and care. This is meant for the students, new and old, teachers and everyone else who feel to share the warmth of Malda Polytechnic with its past, present and future.

The blogspot is meant for those who can never forget the excitement to view the first colour television in the hostel common room, the occasional grand feast, Chitrahaar and the weekly chicken meal, taking pride to travel without ticket, Lombu which was never long, Navina Cinema, Rothbary, CP-SFI, cupid hearts, the terrace with its “extravagant” view and the youth and camaraderie all over.

The blogspot is also meant for those who want to extend their fellow feeling for the students and their family, wish to help the college infrastructure or can give cultural / social inputs to updates the site and make it bigger, better and trustworthy.

Till then…let the life move on…and livelihood as well…

Let Jogida keep on brewing fresh cup of tea every morning, the lonely koel may sing another few songs from the Amrapali tree, the garden can keep burdened with more flowers and may the college churn out more engineers, years after years after years.~ ~ ~ UTPAL ROY(1991)
